Panabo Water District (PWD) is a government-owned and controlled corporation that provides safe, reliable, and affordable water supply services to the City of Panabo. We are committed to improving public health and supporting community development through quality water service.

Founding year

1981

Panabo Water District (PWD), herein referred as “District”, was created operating as a quasi-public utility under a semi-government status, implemented its projects in calculated phases and stages. Transmission and distribution lines, sources, pumping stations and reservoirs multiplied in large proportions as PWD coped with Panabo City’s progress.

The journey and growth

2019

Panabo Water District’s Joint Venture with PrimeWater Infrastructure Corp. commenced on June 1, 2019, following the signing of the Joint Venture Agreement on March 14, 2019. The partnership aims to improve service delivery, expand coverage, and accelerate infrastructure development to meet the growing water needs of Panabo City.

As part of this initiative, pipe-laying expansions are being carried out in various barangays to serve the increasing demand from new subdivisions and urban development. These projects are focused on improving water availability, pressure, and overall system reliability for customers.

Mandate

Panabo Water District (PWD) was established under Sangguniang Bayan Resolution No. 166 on December 5, 1980, during the administration of the late Mayor Pedro A. Dacumos, pursuant to Presidential Decree (PD) No. 198, as amended (commonly known as the “Provincial Water Utilities Act of 1973”). PWD is a Government-Owned and Controlled Corporation (GOCC) under the Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) and holds a Conditional Certificate of Conformance No. 200, dated June 7, 1982.

PWD was created to:

Acquire, install, improve, maintain, and operate water supply and distribution systems for domestic, industrial, municipal, and agricultural uses within the boundaries of Panabo City.

Provide, maintain, and operate wastewater collection, treatment, and disposal facilities.

Undertake other functions and operations incidental to water resource development, utilization, and disposal, as necessary to fulfill its mandate.

Tree Planting – Supporting reforestation and environmental conservation by planting trees in public areas.

Donation of Handwashing Stations to Schools – Promoting hygiene and public health among students by providing handwashing facilities in local schools.

Clean-Up Drives – Organizing community clean-up events to maintain cleanliness and protect the local environment.

Relief Operations – Extending support to families and communities affected by natural disasters and emergencies through timely aid and assistance.
